OUR EXPERIENCE

The owners, Josh and Nicole Roloff, have been remodeling homes in Fort Collins for 19 years.  Josh has worked in the building industry for more than 25 years including framing, restoration, construction, directing a non-profit home repair service, managing overseas building projects and owning his own remodeling business.

OUR CRAFT

Josh’s skills in transforming a space reach beyond construction, he has a talent for creating vision for the design of the renovation and incorporating original custom elements.  Relationship with each client is important to Josh, and he is able to offer an unusual combination of implementing his own craft while accomplishing and enhancing his client's own desires and ideas for remodeling their space.

OUR PROCESS

Our process begins with a casual initial meeting at the client’s home to chat about the project. Laurel St. can be involved in a project in many ways, from designing and crafting plans for the new space to providing and managing the many talented subcontractors Josh has built a relationship with over the years. After we take your project to the engineering and permitting phase, we will provide a detailed estimate and get started.

An earthen home gets a modern-rustic overhaul.

Josh partnered with the owner, a former interior designer, to renovate an out-dated 3,200 square foot earthen home into a warm, modern, rustic space. Josh experimented with and hand crafted original elements for this project like a shotgun treated backsplash and implemented unique techniques like a charcoal rub for the reclaimed wood floors.

A natural contemporary whole house remodel.

This house was a tired, cookie-cutter ranch. Josh partnered with the owners to transform it into a fresh contemporary home with natural accents like white washed local beetle-kill shiplap, and a breezy open floor plan.

A charming old structure gets new life as a haven for artists and writers.

Josh converted a lovely timeworn horse barn into a beautiful office for a literary magazine and art studio. Wanting to maintain the nostalgia of this building, Josh kept the beams and the rustic wood doors, refinished the concrete floors and designed complimentary earthy touches like live edge log shelves.

Old Town Modern Cottage

This is the owners' personal home. Josh and Nicole completely demoed the interior of an Old Town 1920's cottage and remodeled it from top to bottom.  Favorite highlights are vaulted ceilings with beetle kill rafters, an open floor plan with two archways, handcrafted stucco outdoor fireplace, reclaimed cedar shake gables and a seasonal outdoor shower.

"Working with Laurel St. has been a great experience. Josh's creative vision, attention to detail, and organized execution of our kitchen renovation is second to none. He worked alongside me and my husband as well as subcontractors throughout the entire process ensuring we were getting what we wanted and that the quality was exceptional. Josh's relationship with the local community of craftsmen, artisans, and contractors sets JNR apart and results in a unique and locally sourced space.

And more than anything, Josh and Nicole are just a lot of fun to be around! We couldn't be happier with how our kitchen turned out, and we can't wait to have our first guac and craft margarita night in our new space!"
